This is the perfect anthem for young developing voices for Christmas! A delightful melody is instantly memorable and is well suited for children’s voices.  The joyful setting captures the excitement and wonder of the shepherds as they learned of Christ's birth.  A trumpet-like fanfare in the piano sets the stage for the lilting 6/8 melody, as young voices declare, 'Arise, shine, Jesus has come!' The optional three handbells or handchimes and the Scripture reading that may be used to introduce the anthem make this selection unique.  This can be sung as a stand-alone piece or may be combined with these two companion pieces:  “Come, Come Emmanuel” (CGA1031) and “May My Light Shine” (CGA1066).  Together, the three anthems make a delightful seasonal trilogy or “mini-musical” especially suited for younger children’s choirs.
